Call for Expressions of Interest – EO DataHub User Access

The UK Earth Observation Data Hub (EODH) is now inviting Expressions of Interest (EOIs) from UK‑based users to access its national platform for Earth observation data and processing tools. Free access is available until 31 March 2026, with opportunities for both standard users and those wishing to undertake funded implementation projects.

The EO DataHub provides a single gateway to a wide range of Earth observation datasets, including commercial imagery, Sentinel‑1 and Sentinel‑2 analysis‑ready data for the UK, and long‑term research datasets from the UK EO Climate Information Service. The platform also offers processing environments, Jupyter notebook workflows, and applications for exploring surface temperature and land‑cover change.

This EOI call aims to lower barriers to EO data use, enabling researchers, analysts, developers, public‑sector organisations, and commercial users to test the platform, access data, and explore new applications within a limited free‑access period.

1. Standard Access Requests – Rolling Deadline

For UK‑based users who wish to explore the DataHub environment, discover datasets, or carry out modest analysis tasks.

This route is ideal for:

  • EO beginners and data explorers
  • Users needing access to open or commercial data
  • Analysts with straightforward workflows
  • Organisations exploring how EO data can support their operations

Applicants will be asked for brief details of their intended use and expected storage/compute needs.
A short feedback report will be required by 25 March 2026.

2. Funded EODH User Projects – Deadline: 10 February 2026, 13:00

For analysts, developers, or organisations with more advanced EO use cases requiring greater compute resources, technical support, or workflow development.

Successful applicants will receive:

  • £5,000 (plus VAT) per project, which can be used for staff time or additional commercial data
  • Free compute on the EODH
  • Technical support from EO specialists, software engineers, and commercial data experts
  • Assistance integrating commercial datasets (including Airbus and OpenCosmos products)

Projects must be completed by 31 March 2026, with a draft case study submitted by 25 March 2026.
