EarthCARE UK Science Meeting

6th June 2025
University of Reading

As EarthCARE completes its first year in orbit, we invite you to join a gathering of the community of UK scientists interested in EarthCARE’s suite of observations across the domains of aerosol, cloud, precipitation, radiation budget, and applications to weather and climate modelling.

Aimed at both current and prospective users, the objective of the meeting is to identify areas of common scientific interest and facilitate coordinated research, particularly seeding consortia for funding applications.

The day will include presentations summarising recent EarthCARE calibration/validation activities, introduce the EarthCARE data products, and showcase initial scientific results, including evaluation and assimilation into numerical weather and air quality models. Discussion sessions will prioritize topical and interdisciplinary themes, focused on identifying the most urgent and important needs from EarthCARE for research in the UK. There will be opportunities to display posters during breaks to highlight work-in-progress and drive networking.

This meeting is supported by the National Centre for Earth Observation, the University of Reading, and the European Centre for Medium-Range Weather Forecasts.
