Symposium to Celebrate the launch of the Leverhulme Centre for Wildfires, Environment, and Society

The Leverhulme Centre for Wildfires, Environment and Society  (the first in the world to address wildfire challenges from a global perspective) are holding a symposium to celebrate the launch of their centre on Wednesday 13th November 2019.

Bringing together physical and social scientists to understand the dynamics shaping fire in the Earth system, the Centre will undertake research to better quantify and forecast fire’s incidence, study its local impacts, and explore how societies can live with fire more sustainably.

The Centre is a joint endeavour between Imperial College London, King’s College London, the University of Reading and Royal Holloway University of London.

This symposium is free to attend but registration is required in advance.

A drinks reception will follow the symposium at 17.30 in the College Main Entrance.
