NCEO Science Showcase at COP27

The 27th session of the United National Framework Convention on Climate Change Conference of the Parties (COP27) is being hosted this week by the Arab Republic of Egypt at the Sharm el-Sheikh International Convention Centre.

The National Centre for Earth Observation (NCEO) is being represented throughout the two week event in person and virtually on the Space4Climate climate data from space app in the UK Pavilion (Blue Zone) and during poster sessions on Earth Information Day on the 9th of November.

NCEO science and UK Earth Observation expertise captured an audience this week from Foreign Secretary James Cleverly and outgoing COP President Alok Sharma MP.  As well as impressive data visualisations and examples of Climate Change Initiative (CCI) datasets, the app, on the PufferSphere, showcases innovative new climate services, using trustworthy climate data from space and case studies of how NCEO and Space4Climate members are working with communities and governments.
