| The core activity of NCEO is fundamental science: the challenge of understanding and predicting the behaviour of planet Earth as a complex, multi-component coupled system using observations from space and mathematical models.
Our research has a cross-cutting, thematic structure consisting of seven core science research areas and an eighth supporting theme on EO informatics. The work done by our scientists within each of these eight thematic areas involves a broad range of disciplinary knowledge and skill, and individual disciplines appear in more than one theme. |
