The National Centre for Earth Observation has been awarded a contract to host the International Project Office of the Group for High Resolution Sea Surface Temperature (GHRSST).
The IPO will be hosted by NCEO Reading in the Dept of Meteorology. It is funded by the European Space Agency, co-funded by NERC. Andrea Kaiser-Weiss (Dept of Meteorology) has been appointed the IPO Co-ordinator.
The GHRSST was established in 2003. It has proved to be a highly successful international activity, promoting the use of satellite-derived sea surface temperature data. Andrea's role will be to encourage and steer international participation in the project.We wish her many congraulations and success in her new role.
